U.S. President Joe Biden announced new sanctions against Russia on Thursday in response to the military attack by Russian President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine. The sanctions target four major banks and add more Russian elites to those impacted by sanctions. He also announced Thursday he had authorized the deployment of air and ground troops already stationed in Europe to NATO’s “eastern flank allies,” including Latvia, Poland and Romania.
