Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said on Wednesday that individuals at the truckers protest have strong ties with far-right groups with leaders in Ottawa after arrests were made and in connection to allegations of conspiracy to murder officers. He added the group is “organized, agile, knowledgeable and driven by an extremist ideology,” which is harmful to democracy.
