In a heated exchange during Tuesday’s session of question period, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland was grilled about the economy and affordability in Canada by Conservative MP Gerard Deltell. Though Freeland claimed before the Omicron variant put Canada in a chokehold, the nation’s economy fully recovered from the pandemic recession. However, even though she claimed economic recovery and an increased GDP, Deltell challenged her on the cost of living, including food affordability.
