Russia-Ukraine standoff: Foreign minister says NATO views Canada as one of ‘lead countries’ aiding Ukraine

During Monday’s Question Period in the House of Commons, when asked why the Liberal government won’t send lethal weapons to Ukraine to defend their borders against Russia in the event of an invasion, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly said NATO Secretary Gen. Jens Stoltenberg called Canada one of the “lead countries” in aiding Ukraine amid the rising tensions.
