Transport minister ‘shares’ protester frustrations, public health measures needed to end pandemic

Thousands of protesters came to Ottawa over the weekend, calling for an end of COVID-19-related restrictions like vaccine passports. Transport Minister Omar Alghabra tells ‘The West Block’ guest host Eric Sorensen that he shares their frustration, but underscores public health measures are an important part of getting out of the pandemic. Sorensen also asks Alghabra if he plans to meet with protesters, and what happens if this demonstration becomes an occupation.

Transport minister ‘shares’ protester frustrations, public health measures needed to end pandemic

Thousands of protesters came to Ottawa over the weekend, calling for an end of COVID-19-related restrictions like vaccine passports. Transport Minister Omar Alghabra tells ‘The West Block’ guest host Eric Sorensen that he shares their frustration, but underscores public health measures are an important part of getting out of the pandemic. Sorensen also asks Alghabra if he plans to meet with protesters, and what happens if this demonstration becomes an occupation.
