Health Canada’s Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Surpiya Sharma explained in a press conference on Monday how the newly-approved Pfizer antiviral pill for COVID-19 works. The drug is intended for use as soon as possible after the diagnosis of COVID-19 in a patient and within five days of the start of symptoms.
