Retired Legends, a B.C.-based organization, has taken on the task of helping support retired police dogs. When dogs retire, usually after six or seven years of service, they don’t have pensions, leaving handlers or their adoptive families to pay for what can amount for thousands in vet bills, sometimes for pre-existing conditions.
