MLB locks out players in effort to jump start CBA negotiations, commissioner says

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred on Friday announced that the league is locking out its players after it failed to reach an agreement on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the players association. This is Major League Baseball’s first work stoppage in a quarter-century after the sport’s collective bargaining agreement expired.
