A vaccine for Alzheimer’s? Boston hospital gets green light to start clinical trials

Researchers at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital have been given the green light to launch clinical trials into a nasal vaccine for Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Howard Weiner, co-director for the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Disease at the hospital says the vaccine stimulates the body’s immune system to fight the disease, which is caused by abnormal proteins in the brain.
