N.Y. lawmaker says he’s pushing Canadian government to change testing requirement as border set to reopen

United States Rep. Brian Higgins (D – N.Y.) said Wednesday he was pushing for the Canadian government to consider changing its current entry requirements for land crossings, urging them to remove the COVID-19 testing needed to enter the country, as the U.S. is set to reopen to non-essential fully vaccinated travellers. Higgins also said he was pushing the Biden administration to reopen Nov. 1, as it currently is only set for “early November.”
