Federal Foreign Affairs Minister Marc Garneau said on Monday in his address to the United Nations General Assembly that Canada is committed to welcoming 40,000 Afghan refugees. Garneau praised Canadians for welcoming Afghans following the U.S. withdrawal and the country’s fall to the Taliban.
