R. Kelly trial: Singer’s lawyer says client ‘disappointed’ in guilty verdict, expects they’ll appeal
The lawyer for R. Kelly, Deveraux Cannick, spoke after the singer was convicted of racketeering in his sex-trafficking trial and said that “of course” Kelly was disappointed. He also expected that they would appeal the guilty verdict. A jury found Kelly guilty just three days after going into deliberations. He faces a sentence of 10 years to potentially life in prison.
