Guterres warns of COP26 failure if countries don’t ‘change course’ on emissions
Description
September 20, 2021
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned Monday that commitments from the majority of countries on limiting greenhouse gas emissions would result in an increase of 16 per cent, rather than a decrease of 45 per cent by 2030. He warned that unless countries “collectively change course,” the upcoming UN climate summit, COP26, would be at high risk of failure.
