Victim struck by vehicle after fall from railway bridge in Port Hope: police

Port Hope police say a “young person” has been airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre after he fell or left a railway bridge and was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. in the area of Mill and Peter streets.

Police say the individual was struck by a car below. Two occupants in the vehicle were not injured.

The OPP’s technical collision unit are assisting municipal police. The area is expected to be closed for most of Wednesday evening.
