At a press briefing on Tuesday, B.C.’s chief coroner Lisa Lapointe shared the shocking numbers of the illicit drug overdose crisis as the province marks International Overdose Day. Lapointe said: “Each one of these people mattered. Each one is dearly missed. And each of these deaths was preventable.”
