Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said on Wednesday that the U.S. military will continue evacuation efforts from Kabul airport until its Aug. 31 deadline if needed, but in the last couple of days it will prioritize the removal of U.S. troops and military equipment. Army Maj. Gen. William Taylor also told reporters that 90 U.S. military and other international flights had evacuated 19,000 more people in the past 24 hours.
