Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Wednesday that Canada would continue to “put pressure” on the Taliban to allow people to leave Afghanistan even after the Aug. 31 deadline for U.S. withdrawal, adding that Canada would “work with partners in the region” to get people to safety.
