NYC becomes 1st U.S. city to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter restaurants, gyms, indoor businesses

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that starting Sept. 13, the city will become the first major American municipality to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for customers and staff at restaurants, gyms and other indoor businesses, as the U.S. enters a new phase of battling the highly-contagious Delta variant.
