Israeli health official says COVID-19 booster shot helps with waning immunity

On Sunday’s episode of CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Israeli health official Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis warned of new data suggesting COVID-19 vaccinations may not be as effective against the Delta variant. “The decision to make a booster shot available is a combination of two things: evidence of what we think is waning immunity…and evidence that we have increased hospitalizations along the 60 and above populations who were fully immunized.”
