When asked about shifting the approach to COVID-19 from a pandemic to an endemic, Alberta chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said with all knowledge and tools available to address the disease, health-care resources must also now return to other respiratory diseases like influenza, which is anticipated to make a return among the general population this year.
