Tourism officials use pandemic to launch new master plan for Edmonton’s next decade

With limited international travel the competition for domestic tourism dollars is now tougher than ever. Officials in Edmonton used the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to create a 10-year master plan. The immediate strategy includes a focus on sporting events, meetings and conventions. As interim Explore Edmonton CEO Maggie Davison tells Global News at Noon, the aim is to make Edmonton a destination of choice.
