Cyclist struck on Hunter Street in Peterborough

A man in his 50s was struck while riding his bicycle on Hunter Street near Rogers Street on Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 9:40 a.m.

Peterborough police on scene told Global Peterborough the 51-year-old man was riding his bike on Hunter Street when he was struck by a SUV.

Police also say he was wearing a helmet.

Peterborough paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital for further treatment.

The couple in the SUV were not injured.
