Chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam discussed the Lambda COVID-19 variant on Thursday, which was recently identified in Canada. She said they do not yet know the full impact of the variant, which was first identified in Peru in the summer of 2020, but that it’s “important to now work out whether the Lambda variant has any impact on our vaccines.”
