Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced additional funding on Thursday to help with the implementation of a “federal pathway” document that outlines Ottawa’s planned steps to address the 231 calls to justice in the national inquiry on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) focused on four themes: culture, health and wellness, security and safety, and justice. He also added that the preliminary national action plan presented that day would continue to evolve.
