Members of George Floyd's family met with U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday, urging them to pass police reform legislation in Floyd's name a year after his death in Minneapolis. "It was great. He's a genuine guy," Philonise Floyd, a brother of George Floyd, said after the meeting. Biden had wanted U.S. lawmakers to finish work on the legislation overhauling police practices by the anniversary of Floyd's death. A bipartisan group of lawmakers in the House and Senate has been working toward that end. Floyd, a Black man, was killed in May of 2020 when a white police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes.
