GOP cements its future as party of Trump with ousting of Cheney from leadership
The Republican Party appears to have cemented its future as being seen as the party of former president Donald Trump on Wednesday when House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Liz Cheney was ousted from her leadership role. Cheney had faced criticism for voting to impeach Trump earlier this year but survived a vote in February. However as she continued to speak out against the former president’s unproven claims about the 2020 presidential election, fewer allies supported her.
