Volunteers with the non-profit organization Shri Deodhan Sewa Samiti were collecting the unclaimed ashes of people who died from COVID-19 in India earlier this week to give the bodies a respectful sendoff per Hindu traditions as the country continues to see an unprecedented surge in COVID-19 deaths with nearly 4,000 being seen on Tuesday alone.
