The U.S. top infectious diseases expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday that it was “very likely” the country had been undercounting deaths from COVID-19 after a new report from the University of Washington estimated the actual death toll was nearly double, at more than 900,000.
