Canada’s innovation, health ministers defend investment in vaccine facility

Asked why the government was investing money into a vaccine manufacturing facility that would primarily produce influenza vaccines as opposed to mRNA vaccines for COVID-19, Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne on Wednesday said that they had already invested approximately $1 billion in relation to COVID-19 funding. He said the investment was for long-term planning.
