Centers for Disease Control (CDC) director Dr. Rochelle Walensky on Monday said the United States’ most recent seven-day average is 53,800 daily COVID-19 cases, which she said is a “slight” increase from previous data. The doctor added the death rate due to the coronavirus continues to decline, though they remain “at elevated levels.”
