Coronavirus: CDC director warns U.S. can stop ‘4th surge’ if they continue to abide by health measures

Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on Monday warned that the increase of COVID-19 virus variants poses a risk to the country losing its “hard-earned ground” they’ve made against the coronavirus. Walensky said continuing to abide by health measures could help them stop a potential “fourth surge” in cases. She added that she was concerned about states looking into loosening restrictions and what it could mean for the pandemic’s trajectory.
