Russia reports world’s first known case of human infected with H5N8 bird flu

Russia has registered the first known case of a human being infected with the H5N8 bird flu. Anna Popova, head of Russia’s consumer watchdog, said Saturday seven workers at a poultry farm in Russia’s south were infected in December following an outbreak among poultry.
