Overworked, underpaid: Ottawa’s chronic underfunding leaves Indigenous water operators behind

A national investigation has taken a deep dive into the impact of federal policy on the water crisis faced by many First Nations. As Elizabeth McSheffrey reports, Indigenous water operators are on the front lines, and a survey of 122 First Nations has found that many are overworked and underpaid. In the Maritimes, some report working full-time, for as little as $13 an hour.
