Justice Minister David Lametti spoke on Thursday following the introduction of a bill to reform the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, saying the amendment was “turning the page on a failed conservative criminal justice policy” whose “singular accomplishment has been to incarcerate too many Indigenous people, too many Black people and too many marginalized Canadians.”
