Canada’s Chief Public Officer of Health Dr. Theresa Tam said on Tuesday the new fast-spreading coronavirus variants need a rapid response as all 10 provinces reported COVID-19 cases caused by the variants. Tam reported over 540 cases of the variant first detected in the U.K., 33 of the South African and one case of the Brazilian P1 variant.
