Canada’s COVID-19 case counts declining, but variants still a threat: Tam

National daily case counts have continued to decline over the past three weeks in Canada, according to chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam, public health rules put in place to curb the spread of the virus are still needed. Tam said Tuesday that over 135 cases of the B117 variant that originated in the U.K. have been detected in Canada, along with at least 30 cases of the B151 variant that was first reported in South Africa.
