Coronavirus: Hong Kong’s Carrie Lam says lockdown, compulsory testing, to ‘dispel residents’ worries’

Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam said the lockdown of an area of Kowloon peninsula was to stop community transmission of the coronavirus and to “dispel residents' worries,” after visiting the restricted zone on Saturday afternoon. COVID-19 testing will be made compulsory for the roughly 10,000 residents in the area and they will not be able to leave home until results have been determined.
