Snowmobiler crashes into tree west of Peterborough

A snowmobiler was rushed to hospital after a collision with a tree south of Peterborough on Friday night.

Around 8 p.m. emergency crews responded to reports that a snowmobiler had struck a tree on a property on Stewart LIne in Cavan Monaghan Township, just west of Peterborough.

Peterborough paramedics say the man was treated at the scene before being transferred to Peterborough Regional Health Centre

Police say the victim, believed to be in his 20s, was travelling at a high rate of speed and was ejected from the machine on impact.

It’s not clear if he was wearing a helmet.
