Residents on Vicente, Madeira island in Portugal faced an unprecedented Christmas Day with flooding and rockslides causing damage in the northern part of the island. Dozens of people were evacuated from their homes and at least one home was reportedly destroyed. As yet, authorities had not reported any victims or missing people.
