Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam on Tuesday welcomed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement on securing an initial supply of up to 249,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine before the end of the year and said while this is good news, it doesn’t mean control of the pandemic will be quick. She also urged people to continue following public health measures until a vaccine is widely available.
