National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Perry Bellegarde said on Thursday the UN Declaration on Human Rights of Indigenous Peoples doesn’t give anything new, but rather acknowledges Indigenous people rights under national law, adding that First Nations chiefs will be monitoring closely in the upcoming weeks for the implementation of the bill.
