In order to provide “immediate relief” for low and middle-income families affected by the coronavirus pandemic regarding childcare, Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland Monday proposed temporary additional support, totaling up to $1,200 per child in 2021. Freeland said this in the House of Commons during her fiscal update.
