Former U.S. vice-president Joe Biden spoke to the American people on Friday, as he inches closer to the presidency, saying that U.S. voters have given him and his Democratic party running mate Kamala Harris “a mandate” and they have “made it clear” they want the country to pull together in the wake of the election. As of Friday night, neither Biden nor U.S. President Donald Trump had formally been declared the winner of the election.
