Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Friday criticized Whole Foods for instituting a policy banning Canadian employees from wearing the poppy, which is a sign of remembrance and respect for fallen soldiers, calling it “disgusting and disgraceful.” He said they would also be putting forward legislation to ban companies from preventing staff from wearing a poppy during Remembrance week.
