DNA helps find suspect in 1984 cold case murder of Christine Jessop, suspect dead: Toronto police

On Thursday Toronto Police identified a suspect in the 1984 cold case murder of nine-year-old Christine Jessop. Police say Calvin Hoover was identified through genetic genealogy. Hoover, who was 28-years-old in 1984, died in 2015. Police have said Christine had been abducted, sexually assaulted and stabbed near her home in Queensville, Ont., north of Toronto.
