Legault says he was ‘shocked’ by treatment of dying Indigenous woman in Quebec hospital

Quebec Premier François Legault responded on Wednesday to the death of an Indigenous woman at a hospital Joliette, Que., after her treatment by staff at the hospital sparked outrage when she livestreamed the abuse prior to her death. Legault said he was “shocked by the racism she was subject to.” He said two investigations are ongoing, and he would “act quickly” on recommendations from a task force on racism.
