Throne speech: Payette touts coronavirus job creation, wage subsidy extension

During Wednesday’s throne speech, Governor General Julie Payette said that “there is still more to be done” to help Canada’s economy and unemployment amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why she said that the federal government will be launching a campaign to create over one million jobs. This will be done through multiple methods, including the extension of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy.
