During the reveal of the first ballot results for the leadership race of the Conservative Party of Canada early Monday morning, it was announced that Derek Sloan dropped off the ballot with 4,864 votes. Candidate Peter MacKay has a slight lead after the first ballot. The person elected will replace Andrew Scheer as party leader.
