Newly-appointed Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said on Tuesday that the government’s plan to restart the economy has to be green, including decarbonization, must be equitable and inclusive for Canadians and must focus on jobs and growth. She stressed the “once-in-a-lifetime challenge” from the COVID-19 means they must do “whatever it takes” to support Canadians through the pandemic.
