Coronavirus: Pelosi accuses Trump of trying to ‘undermine democracy’ over Postal Service funding
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke about ongoing talks over COVID-19 relief and accused President Donald Trump of trying to “undermine democracy” by saying he wouldn’t put up any money for the U.S. Postal Service. Trump had earlier in the day vowed to block any money to facilitate mail-in voting as election infrastructure became a major talking point on coronavirus relief funding.
Pelosi said any relief bill should include billions of dollars to not only protect Americans’ right to vote, but also essential services like the mailing of prescription medicine during the pandemic.
